Feindflug - Vierte Version (1999)

I suppose, technically, this album is titled "Feindflug Vierte Version," as it is the fourth version of the eponymous album by Feindflug. However, since that original album doesn't really exist as it was self-released to probably about 12 rivetheads in Leipzig, I think its safe to drop the 'Feindflug' from the title.

I've also seen this album also tagged as "Version Vier," probably for people who can count to four in German but not with ordinal numbers.

Anyway, long story short it is the full release of an album Feindflug made but never fully released in its original form. Apparently it needed four mixings and masterings for it to be worthy. Disocographically, this is their third offering (according to wikipedia). So their third album is the fourth version of their first album that never got released, so I guess that was actually their zero-th album...

All that aside, when it comes to Martial Industrial, Feindflug are the top dogs in my mind, and this album is. as they say, "highly representative of their work." Its a damned good album. Probably their best, depending on who you ask.
