the Goslings: Warmth collaboration re-issue + 4 fresh jamz

"Heaven of Animals" is a through-the-mail collaboration with mid-west drone/noise musician Steev Thompson's WARMTH (formerly Roxanne Jean Polise). We started trading disks with Thompson back when we made "Spaceheater," and Thompson suggested we collaborate on something. After many exchanges over the course of a year, we had HOA. The album was originally released in 2005 on cdr by Thompson's label, XDEY Records. Archive Recordings has now re-released it on CD along with four new bonus tracks. Because it's a collab it's not a typical album for us, more abstract, more ambient. WARMTH's presence on the album beckons us to slow it down and wander with him through his sprawling landscapes, diverging down strange scenic pathways of the subconscious. Thompson's contributions are on the one hand organic and warm, you can hear lush field recordings coming in and out, with the counterpoint sounding much like a theme to a dark psychedelic sci-fi, like Blade Runner maybe.. his stuff is always beautiful, sometimes sad, and even though in alot of ways our projects are very different they fused well here. We were thrilled to see this project with Steev come to fruition and are so pleased to see it lovingly supported and re-released here through the Archive label.

GOSLINGS/ WARMTH "heaven of animals" CD ARCHIVE 50 Originally released as a 5 track small run collaborative CD between the Goslings and Roxanne Jean Polise recorded in 2004-05. The current resurrection of this release features 4 of the original tracks with an actually proper mastering job from James Plotkin. The backend of the disc features 4 new traxs that were cultivated between the Goslings and Warmth (name change for the mid-west Steev Thompson) between 2007-08. Eight tracks in total of shimmering clouds of glass shards that swirl everywhere around you all coated with a lightly sprinkled malaise of Leslie's haunting vocals. A bit more abstract and less song structured than other Goslings works with an angling towards a droning approach, none the less the quality of the audio is extremely high. Comes housed in hand silkscreened (brokenpresses) 2.5 panels sleeves slipped inside of heavy 10mil custom made vinyl sleeves specially sized for archive releases. (pressing of 500 copies)
